Various methods and techniques are used
within your Kids Peace of Mind Session depending
on what is best for you and your child
Emotional Freedom Technique
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping) is a clinically proven form of “emotional acupuncture without needles”. Used by therapists & psychologists worldwide to ease emotional distress and clear negative emotions, beliefs, and memories.
EFT works by tapping a series of acupressure points on the face and upper body with two fingers whilst voicing our issue. This helps to reduce the fight or flight (stress) response and re-wire our brain to think more clearly about the problem. Scientifically proven it works! Tapping has been researched in more than 10 countries.
EFT can play a major part in helping kids release fear, anxiety, trauma, and doubt in a matter of minutes. It often produces results a lot more quickly with children, as they don’t have the same amount of emotional stress as adults do. EFT works even if they don’t believe in it, which is especially helpful for older children who might have resistance to working on issues or trying new approaches.
Along with mindfulness exercises, Emotional Freedom Technique can teach kids how to manage their emotions, process events, and build confidence and resilience.
Mindfulness and Meditation
As a Mindfulness and Meditation Kids' Teacher, I have learnt that a mindful approach in teaching meditation to kids is the best approach by using an intuitive and heartfelt way to teach.
It is a compassionate approach to empowering young people with mindful skills that will support them through life. I have a ‘toolbox’ of mindful activities that I can pick up and intuitively choose to adapt a meditation to connect to young people’s interests, attention spans and well-being needs.
If your child is struggling, I can offer child-centred meditation support by giving them some key mindfulness activities to reduce stress and anxiety.
A session can be face-to-face or online. I also facilitate group meditation sessions for kids. I have been trained to help young people connect to meditation and enjoy the benefits of a group experience. If you are an organisation looking to bring in a meditation teacher for kids and teens, I am experienced and can provide child-centred teaching plans that can accommodate your intentions and schedule. I have gained valuable experience working with children during our sessions.
Reiki Usui
Reiki is a Japanese technique used for stress reduction, relaxation and the promotion of healing. It is a powerful but gentle healing therapy that is used for all ages. The purpose of Reiki healing is to bring peace, happiness and health to oneself and then to others. Reiki promotes the body’s natural ability to heal by activating the relaxation response and helping your body to balance itself at a very deep level.
I am an Usui Reiki Master, and always start the session with a consultation, discussing your needs and intentions for the healing session. I offer a safe, calm space for you to express your feelings and release them. During the session you may see colours, feel heat or coolness coming from my hands, you may feel light and your tummy might make gurgling noises. These are all positive signs that your energy is shifting and your body is releasing what no longer serves your highest good.
